Krispy Kreme is here!...almost

Krispy Kreme opens tomorrow! For a fun and inspirational video click here

Thank goodness the donuts look 'normal' I was afraid they were going to confuse the donuts with those Chinese buns used in dim sum and stuff them with pork or something worse. And it doesn't look like there are any 'Bird's Nest surprise' donuts or glazed sharks fin donuts.

oh boy, now i'm never going to lose weight....good thing it's in causeway bay and somewhat out of the way!

very funny hunny! I to am excited for it, but also am skeptical like you as so many of our favs from home do not taste the same here..

But uh, if this is going to be in causeway bay, then how come I saw big signs posted all over an empty building in central/midlevels? Curious...

That's probably due to 2 things...central, specifically LKF was where they were handing the free BOXES of donuts to people. Plus, central/midlevels is where all us gweilo expats work, live and play. And let's face it...don't you think that's their target market?

It sounds like Causeway Bay is far and out of the way. That's great! Not because it might deter you from getting the donuts.
No, that isn't enough. =)
But it will make you work a little HARDER for your donuts which will at least make you feel better about eating them. Chow down, you've earned them! =)

Well, in HK, distance is quite relative. Causeway bay wouldn't be that far away in Washington state terms. Probably 5-10 minutes w/o traffic...in a car. If I walked it would be 45min+ and I'd be literally drenched in sweat. If I took the subway, I could probably be there in 20-25 minutes, including walking to/from the subway. But, we hardly ever go in to that area of the island...but, I have a feeling that might change! ;)

Here's my suggestion.......walk to get your Krispy Kreme's (to and from) - even though you'll be dripping with sweat - that way you'll burn off part of the calories..............
Of course, I'll just use the drive thru at Tacoma Mall!!!!

They should totally make a unique Chinese Krispy Kreme donut, like with BBQ pork inside it or something. Gross.
