bada, ba ba ba...I'm lovin' it...

As many of you know (that is the few of you, that read this blog) my wife and I will be moving to Hong Kong soon. Everytime I tell someone new about our move, I get the same reaction: "wow...huh...Hong Kong?" I try and tell people that it's not a 3rd world country, it's actually very developed. From as far as I can tell, it will have just about all the western conveniences we're used to...McDonald's for example. As I was thinking about this, I remember hearing how McDonald's in different countries serves different menu choices. So, I decided to check this out, to see what would be available in HK (thank you, internet) :

I'm eager to try these (and yes, this is in HK$, price is more like $1.30 for 4 piece):

This looks kind of interesting...they really like there flat bread, I guess:

Thank goodness, now I don't have to have them shipped to me...

Okay...so they can't all be winners:

For other non-HK McDonald's...I couldn't help sharing the following:

McDonald's Pakistan:

McDonald's Germany..."Big Rosti" Is that a burger with bacon and a hash brown pattie? Cam, you've got to tell me if that's it and if so, is it any good?:

I already like Hong Kongers. Yea to them for not messing with the abstract pricing crap we have here (i.e. chicken strips for $3.99) add the penny you moron, I know I'm being charged $4 anyway! 19.50, $10, $5 I like the nice clean prices...

Funny post—oh, and I want to taste the hashbrown burger too

Someone likes hash browns. I do too.

Those two sandwiches are new to me. Especially that bread; it looks deformed. It's the Quasimodo of hamburger buns.

Kartoffelrösti is not quite hash browns, but it is made of potatoes. Imagine mashing a potato and then frying it flat. It's a bit more complicated, I'm sure, but that's basically what that is. Now, McDonald's could be lazy and just stick a hash brown on there, but I've never seen hash browns at any German McDonald's. I know, the shame. I love McDonald's breakfast and I haven't had one in two years. I have to put up with BK breakfast or Popeye's Chicken breakfast, which is surprisingly tasty. If I ever see anyone eating the Big Rösti, I'll be sure to ask them what is in it.

Well, guess what... one of my co-workers just told me that he tried the Big Rösti the other day. He says that the kartoffelrösti is pretty much a hash brown. So there you go. You are missing out.

I'm just a google-aholic and I was looking for information on the Big Rosti. My husband and I honeymooned in Germany earlier this year so I just thought I would throw in that I had eaten one in Fussen. And it was amazing! I wish the U.S. would get it but I don't think its going to happen....
